According to a report released recently by property website 99.co and SRX, the largest number of million-dollar HDB resales in the past 13 months (March last year to date) was in Toa Payoh, with a total of 58, and 17 in the first three months of this year alone.

The New Matinee reporter then checked official government data and found that there were 53 million-dollar HDB resales in the city centre and Bishan, and 52 in Redhill in the past 13 months.

Commenting on Toa Payoh becoming the area with the most million HDB flats, Orangetee & Tie's head of research and consultancy, Sun Yanqing, said most of the million HDB flats before the coronary disease epidemic were indeed concentrated in the downtown area. Even by 2021 and 2022, the city centre and Redhill will still be the main source of million homes.

"The Pinnacle@Duxton skyscraper is very popular in the resale market, but it will be interesting to see if the resale of million dollar homes in Toa Payoh continues to outpace other districts in the coming months."
