Estimates published by property websites 99.co and SRX show that private flat rents rose by 3.5 per cent month-on-month last month, the 26th consecutive month of increases, and by 36.2 per cent year-on-year.

Flat rents rose in all regions, with month-on-month increases ranging from 3% to 4%.

An estimated 5,119 flats were let last month, down 18.6 per cent month-on-month and 0.6 per cent year-on-year.

In the HDB market, overall rents rose slightly by 1.2% month-on-month and climbed by 27.7% year-on-year last month. Rents for all types of HDB flats rose month-on-month, by between 0.6 per cent and 1.8 per cent.

An estimated 2,619 HDB flats were let last month, a decrease of 7.2% from the previous month and 4.1% year-on-year.
