Abstract: A survey conducted by the largest local property search website has revealed that half of the country's respondents are likely to put off buying a home due to high inflation, while a quarter are considering giving up buying a home altogether.

A consumer sentiment survey published by property website PropertyGuru in the first half of the year showed that 55% of the country's population is considering delaying their home purchase until prices stabilise.

Of those still considering entering the market, 31% are considering buying a pre-built HDB flat, which is 15 percentage points more than the same period last year.

The second half of last year also saw an increase of 15 percentage points over the first half of last year to 57% of respondents who said property was expensive or too expensive.
